Wastewater Treatment Process
Settling
Untreated sewer flows into the treatment plant where large particles and grit from the incoming sewer are allowed to settle. A biological waste digester (BioClear) is introduced at this stage to digest organic waste & eliminate odour by bypassing formation of methane & other gases.Aeration
Natural aeration is facilitated by the vent pipes & blowers. Blowers are used in wastewater treatment to create air bubbles that aerate and agitate the water. This process is essential for breaking down pollutants and keeping waterways clean:
Aeration: Provides oxygen for aerobic bacteria to break down pollutants.
Agitation: Keeps solids suspended in the water so microorganisms can remove them.Sedimentation & Backwash
Further breakdown and settlement occur through an aerobic process. The final by-products of this process are water and carbon dioxide. The settled particles are then backwashed to settling chamber.Filtration & Chlorination
The effluent from last chamber is then pushed to an FRP filter for advanced filtration. Chlorine is added as a disinfectant to add bacteria, viruses & other microorganism that causes diseases. Also, eliminates certain odours during disinfectation. This is done to ensure the treated water is of high quality for recycling and/or safe discharge into the environment.
